GigReflex / Gig Reflex’s

August 11th, 2008 by Michael Austin

Circa82’s latest joint project with web dev guru Greg Gigon has been released. The aim of GigReflex is to act as a quick reference guide for both the hardcore and casual gig goer. The heart of GigReflex is about exploring live music and finding the smaller gigs. We’re looking to cover the whole of the UK from the pubs and clubs to the 50,000 capacity arenas. GigReflex is in it’s infancy and most features have yet to be initialised, so we are working hard towards the next release.

You can keep up to date with the latest releases & news over at the GigReflex blog or just head over to GigReflex and find yourself some music!

Moo Cards

April 16th, 2008 by Michael Austin

I’ve produced two sets of Moo cards which will replace my old business cards that utilised the old site design. I may again produce some fully blown business cards, but the Moos will do the job for the time being. The print quality isn’t the best but it’s good enough (some minor pixelation).

The two designs are “Planet Circa82″ and “Web”. “Web” was produced as a tester really for the quality of the Moo cards and pretty much is just a angled screenshot of circa82.co.uk. “Planet Circa82″ is more complex, as it’s a vector illustration of a grass covered planet (Planet Circa82). The word on the front of the card is a secret at the moment but all will be revealed.

The boxes (THE made the right choice)

The DOG chose right

I’ll post up photos of the cards themselves shortly (once I learn how to use this camera probably).

The Big Word Project

March 4th, 2008 by Michael Austin

WordyA website called The Big Word Project has been setup by two Northern Irish lads, which allows you to”purchase” a word from the English dictionary. This word is then pointed towards your website. Buying a word for a few dollars ($1 per letter in each word) is worth a punt, as any web traffic is good traffic (well nearly always). The project should do ok, as they have a good architecture in place along with a nice simple design. They’ve made everything straight forward, but I can see them adding a couple of minor additions to help the “word” functionality.

Currently I own the words multimedia, gig and gigs.

I’ve also added circa82 to some online databases.
