Qee Stage 1: The Box
November 19th, 2007 by Michael Austin
I ordered two 3.5 inch DIY Qee characters from a UK based company called DinkyBox. They were delivered very quickly and customer service seems to be very good. They did make a small mistake of sending me one of the opened (used for photos) Qees, but all has been resolved (they refunded me the £1 difference). I also love the vector character art on their site.
Anyway back to the point. I’ve received the two DIY Qee characters, ToyerQ and MonQ. Each come in a box with a simple black and white design that works really well.

Upon opening the boxes you find the character in a plastic wrapper with a mini catalogue of Toy2r products. I’ve left the MonQ in it’s wrapper (ToyerQ was already opened). I won’t be opening MonQ till the next stage of development, which will be creating the designs on my Mac.

This should be quite an interesting project but I warn you, you should expect lots of photos of failed attempts when it comes to actually painting/spray painting. I take no responsibility for the expletives that may come out of your mouth when you see the foreseen failed attempts. Lets just say it’s going to be a bit of a learning experience.
